A hybrid from Honda
Hybrid cars have been making a mark and its presence felt in the market, given the strong criticism against pollution that conventional gasoline run cars are facing. In addition customers too prefer the hybrid given the rising cost of fuel.
One of the latest and big time car makers to enter this fray has been Honda. They are coming out with a two seat gasoline electric hybrid car. The car is being named CR-Z which stands for Compact Renaissance Zero.
There are many other hybrid cars that have already hit the market and that too from leading car makers. The distinct feature of the Honda CR-Z, from all of them though, is its manual transmission system. This is the first and only of its kind as of now and therefore provides a riding delight with its six speed stick shift and this manual transmission system.
For city and highway driving the mileage that one would get from this car is 34 miles per gallon while it will be 37 miles per gallon for just highway riding. These are indeed figures that gets the customers raised eye brow followed by more attention for the car details.
Honda team and its designers have given a stylish look also to the car. Given the price of the car in UK at £18,975 when it is launched , the design gives it a much more luxurious look.
The car measures 13.4 feet from bumper to bumper and has a wedge shaped design. The cargo lift is quite high in this car, and therefore for the driver to be able to view the rear area of the car, the lift gate and upright rear area have glass installed on them. This also gives the car a Honda CR-X sports car style of looks. The grille of the CR-Z is much like that of Audi cars. The interior too has been done up lavishly with the latest gizmos installed like USB and MP3 interfaces, CD Player , electronic stability control etc. All in all, it is a car to look out for.
