Mobile Phones

Love them or loathe them, mobile phones are a mechanical wonder the likes of which Captain Kirk never dared dream of in the 23rd Century. Personally I think there have been many more positives to mobile phones then there have negatives and I’m delighted with the progress that’s been made in the last decade.
All you have to do is take a look at news around the world about how mobiles have impacted on people’s lives in a positive manner. The BBC website reported how mobiles have offered lifelines to people and budding entrepreneurs in Africa. On that continent mobile technology is more of a necessity then broadband or laptops. Mobile has helped many people in Africa connect to each other either personally or through business.
The advance of worldwide roaming information has meant that everyone can use mobiles to connect with each other around the world without having to be Gordon Gekko to do it. The industry has come a long way since the ‘brick'first made its appearance in Wall Street back in the 80s. You no longer have to pay a fortune to use your phone when travelling.
With the addition of Smartphones to the market we are way beyond where any of us ever thought we would be with mobile technology. Apps, the internet and instant information are all available at the touch of a screen. In fact it’s not hard to imagine a time in the near future when holo-technology will become widely available. With 3D running rampant through the cinema industry, holograms via mobile technology are surely the next logical step.
Exciting times!
